Pay-per-click on Google

Be on Google when someone is ready to ask.

These are Google Ads. You pay when someone clicks. The job is picking the searches worth paying for, and sending that click to a page about that exact thing.

Two people talk across a workshop counter.

What you get

  • Searches that mean someone wants the service. Reading-only searches get left out.
  • One campaign per service, not one campaign for the whole business.
  • An ad that names the service. No invented discount or review.
  • A click that opens the page about that service. If the page is missing, the ad waits.
  • A daily budget you set. Two numbers on the report: what Google charged for clicks, and the work of running the account.

A cheap click that never asks is not a bargain. The report follows enquiries.

Search ads first

The person typed what they want. That is the default. Display, YouTube and remarketing are different. They get switched on only when there is a reason, and you hear that reason first.

The other two jobs

Google SEO is the free listing. It takes longer, and you do not pay per click. Meta ads reach people on Facebook and Instagram who were not searching. The ad must not promise something the page does not say.

How it starts

You say what you sell, and whether a Google Ads account already exists. The plan lists the searches to buy, the searches to refuse, the page, and a starting budget. You see it before any spend.
